Ouaga Producers Lab is a program aimed at professionals from French-speaking Africa, working in the film and audiovisual industry as producers, and who wish to boost their skills in production, management and business.
Ouaga Producers Lab seeks to strengthen the knowledge of emerging producers, establish network between professionals, and promote the creation of partnerships to finance, produce and distribute audiovisual works between Africa and the rest of the world.
Articulated in three successive sessions on the sidelines of the Ouaga Film Lab, taking advantage of the energy of this program and its participants, the Ouaga Producers Lab is particularly aimed at producers wishing to work internationally.
During the first two phases of the workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of the entire film production chain.
Under the direction of experienced producers, trainers and consultants of the Ouaga Film Lab, they will be led to deepen their know-how in script analysis and pitching session, as well as to understand development and financing mechanisms, international production, project and business management principles (budget, legal aspects, taxation and marketing).
The third phase is dedicated to the incubation of the participants’ projects through one-to-one meetings, pitching training, as well as perspectives on the production structure of their project and the financing strategy to be implemented.
The 2nd edition of the Ouaga Producers Lab is reserved for five producers from French-speaking West-Africa countries, who are developing a film or audiovisual project with international ambition.
At the end of the program, two prizes will be awarded in partnership with the Torino Film Lab and Sud Ecriture (Tunisia).
