Synopsis
Timba, an 18-year-old Peulh boy, finds his life turned upside down when a terrorist group attacks his village and captures his father. Fleeing with his mother and sister, he finds refuge in a displacement camp in the city, but is separated from them because of his love for a volunteer. Looking for work, Timba meets a terrorist who indoctrinates him to join their ranks. Fate leads him to find his father, but he is faced with an agonising choice: kill his father or risk his own life.
Production note
My interest is particular in relation to this subject because the cinema offers us this possibility of portraying the stories of its families bereaved and saddened by the terrorists and who come to seek help in the city but sometimes the city reserves a cruel welcome for them. I was seduced by the project ” EN ATTENDANT LA RECOLTE ” which tells the story of an 18-year-old boy, faced with his destiny which leads him to find his father captured by a group of terrorists in his village. Kill his father or risk his own life.
Indeed, Sagou BANOU by his cinematographic and artistic approach which sets him apart from others, by his experience having already directed and worked on several film projects, but also in his quest for originality, makes him the ideal person to carry out this film. It approaches a particular subject in a subtle way with both original points of view by telling a dramatic adventure through love and a distorted reality that carries the symbolism of the story. In a purely modest natural and atypical decor, which brings to life strong tensions and disarray. A natural universe to properly reflect the image and the African daily life
