Awards 2017

After a week of training, mentoring sessions and masterclasses, the Ouaga Film Lab #2 ended on Friday 22 of September with a pitch session in front of an international jury. Check out the winners!

EAVE Award: Duba, The Scavengers, a fiction film project by Eric Hervé R. LENGANI (Burkina Faso), produced by Moustapha SAWADOGO from Racines Productions (Burkina Faso) Consists of a scholarship for a producer to participate to the 2018 EAVE Producers Workshops.

Sud Ecriture Award: Agoodjie, a fiction film project by Félicien M. ASSOGBA (Benin), produced by Fredy Boris AGBLO from F-MEDIA (Benin)
and Duba, The Scavengers, a fiction film project by Eric Hervé R. LENGANI (Burkina Faso), produced by Moustapha SAWADOGO from Racines Productions (Burkina Faso) Consists of a scholarship for a script writing residence, in Tunisia and another African country.

FIDADOC Award: Children Nightcare, a documentary film project by Moumouni SANOU (Burkina Faso), produced by Lamissa OUATTARA from the Films du Djabadjah (Burkina Faso) and special mention to The African voices of the stadiums, a documentary film project by Aliou GOLOKO (Senegal), produced by Lamine DIOUF from Karoninka (Senegal) Consists of a scholarship for a documentary project development workshop at the International Documentary Film Festival of Agadir (Morocco).

“Cinémas du Monde / French Institute” Award: Dia, a fiction film project by Achille Ronaïmou (Chad), produced by Faissol GNONLONFIN (Benin)
Consists of a scholarship to participate to the Fabrique des Cinémas du Monde of the French Institute during the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

Ouaga Film Lab Award: In the shadow of Elimane, a documentary film project by Hamedine KANE (Senegal), produced by Rama THIAW from Boul Fallé Images (Senegal) Consists of a scholarship for a script writing residence at the Moulin d’Andé, in partnership with the CNC (France).

Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg Award: The Seeds of Violence, a documentary film project by Aicha MACKY (Niger), produced by Ousmane SAMASSEKOU (Mali) from Tabous Production (Niger) Consists of a scholarship for a 3-month script writing residence in Berlin (Germany).

Two Prices were also awarded for the Ouaga Producers Lab:
